Interview with Kyler:
1. What’s your full name and where are you from?
My name is Kyler Fewox. I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and spent most of my life there before moving to Clarksville, Tennessee.
2. What category are you competing in (Performance, Fashion, or Film)?
I’m competing in the Performance category at this year’s Artsville Festival.
3. What inspired you to submit to Artsville LIVE this year?
I wanted to put myself out there and show the world what I’m capable of. Most importantly, I want to share my music and connect with people who might resonate with it.
4. Tell us a little bit about your piece or performance.
My song, “Oblivious,” dives into the struggle of facing reality. It’s about being trapped in a delusion, not wanting to accept the truth because it’s easier to stay in a fantasy. It’s raw and emotional, a mix of confusion and a desire to escape.
5. How long have you been practicing your craft or art form?
I’ve been songwriting and producing music for about three years now.
6. Who or what influences your creative work the most?
I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists. Kesha, RAYE, SZA, and many others inspire me daily, pushing me to experiment and evolve in my own music.
7. What’s something people might not know about your creative process?
A lot of work goes into even a single demo. The process isn’t just about creating; it’s about feeling. Many of the songs I’ve written have stirred up a whirlwind of emotions—sometimes making me cry, laugh, or even get angry. It’s a rollercoaster, but it’s worth it.
8. How do you hope people feel when they hear your work?
I want people to be curious and intrigued. I hope they find themselves thinking, "Where did this song come from?" or "What’s the story behind it?" If I can make someone pause and wonder, I’ve done my job.
9. Where can people follow your journey or connect with you online?
I’m most active on YouTube, but you can find my songs on all major streaming platforms.
10. If you win Artsville LIVE, how do you plan to use the $1,000 prize?
I’d invest and save the money carefully. Money is a valuable resource, so I’d make sure to spend it wisely—whether that’s putting it into future projects or saving it for opportunities that will help me grow as an artist.
